What to do if your hair is electrified? Seven ways to get rid of the problem

When the cold season comes, our hair starts to get electrified. The reason is that the hair begins to come into contact with warm and synthetic fabrics. In the summer and spring, this practically does not happen, because we wear lightweight fabrics. There are some tips on how to avoid electrified hair.

  1. Change your comb.

Hair often is electrified when you use the improper comb. The condition of the curls will depend on what material it consists of. If your hair is thins, look for combs with synthetic bristles. Soft plastic combs work best for this type of hair. For thicker and more porous hair, use natural bristle combs. These do not scratch the scalp and electrify the hair.

  1. Change your shampoo.

In the winter, avoid shampoos that add volume to hair. Such shampoos contain ingredients that dry out the scalp to maintain volume at the roots. In the summer, they do not harm, but in the cold period, they can severely dry out the hair and scalp. Opt for moisturizing shampoos and conditioners instead.

  1. Use oils.

In the winter, hair needs oils, especially with thermal protection. They envelop the hair, retaining its natural moisture. In addition, they help prevent hair from drying out. When we apply oil to the ends of the hair, friction between the hair and clothing is reduced.

You can also add aroma oils when combing. To do this, apply a few drops of argan, lavender or rose, essential oil to the comb, and then comb the protruding strands. Essential oils not only help to remove static electricity, but also enhance the shine.

  1. Use conditioners and other hair care products.

Serums and conditioners will not weigh down your curls as long as you use just enough for your hair type rather than half a can at a time. They help relieve static electricity by preventing hair from becoming electrified.

  1. Change your styling products according to the seasons.

You must remember that alcohol dries hair and makes curls porous. Thus, use mousses, foams that do not contain alcohol. Such products not only fix the styling, but also prevent hair from electrifying. Reconsider your hair care depending on the season.

  1. Make hair masks regularly.

Hair masks are an improved version of your favorite balm. The mask more intensively moisturizes and nourishes the hair, heals damaged areas, and prevents dryness. You can use one line of beauty masks with your own shampoo and conditioner, or you can make your own. The main thing is to use masks regularly. This will help you forget about electrified hair.

By caring for your hair, moisturizing and restoring it, you automatically solve the problem of electrification. Use nourishing products and your hair will become immune to static.

  1. Don’t forget about hats.

In the cold season you should not neglect hats. With the right material, the cap keeps hair healthy by protecting it from dry air and cold temperatures. Use hats, scarves or beret made from natural materials.
