What is Ledifos (Ledipasvir/Sofosbuvir) used for?

Ledifos contains two different antiviral agents (Ledipasvir and Sofosbuvir) that together form a potent treatment for chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV).

How should I use Ledifos (Ledipasvir/Sofosbuvir)?

Dosage instructions will be provided to you by your doctor. Follow this, and any other advice they give you very carefully.

Ledifos tablets can be taken with or without food. The easiest wat to take the tablets is to swallow them whole with a glass of water.

What are the side effects of Ledifos (Ledipasvir/Sofosbuvir)?

Ledifos does not result in side effects in many people.

The most common side effects of Ledifos are headaches and tiredness.

Any signs of allergic reaction (eg. rash, hives, excessive itching, unusual difficulty breathing, tightness in your chest, or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue) will require you to contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Please Note

Ledifos (Ledipasvir/Sofobuvir) is not recommended for all people. There are some situations in which you must not take Ledifos. This includes:

  • if you are allergic to the active ingredients (ledipasvir or sofosbuvir)
  • if you are already taking another any other medicine that has sofosbuvir in it
  • if you are currently taking a medicine that contains cobicistat, elvitegravir, emtricitabine, tenofovir, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifabutin, rifampin, rifapentine, rosuvastatin, simeprevir, St. John's wort, tipranavir or ritonavir

Tell your doctor know if you:

  • are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • are currently taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, herbal preparations, or dietary supplements
  • are allergic to any medicines, foods, or other substances
  • have liver or kidney problems

Some of these conditions listed above can be can stop Ledifos from working as it should, or can put you at risk when taking Ledifos.

Some other medicines can interact with Ledifos and make the drugs work differently.

  • Simeprevir because it may increase the risk of ledipasvir and sofosbuvir's side effects
  • Carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifabutin, rifampin, rifapentine, St. John's wort, or tipranavir because they may decrease ledipasvir and sofosbuvir's effectiveness
  • Digoxin or rosuvastatin because the risk of their side effects may be increased by ledipasvir and sofosbuvir
