What is Halovate (Halobetasol) used for?

Halovate (Halobetasol) is a topical corticosteroid prescribed to treat patients with inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. The medication prevents the release of enzymes responsible for causing irritation, redness, and swelling to stop these symptoms from occurring. Your physician may also recommend the use of this medication to treat other unlisted conditions.

How should I use Halovate (Halobetasol)?

Always use Halovate (Halobetasol) according to the instructions of your physician to ensure the safest and most effective results from treatment. The medication is normally applied two to four times each day, but your individual directions will depend on your current health condition and the severity of your symptoms. Rinse the area of skin being treated to remove any dirt or loose skin, apply a small amount of cream, gently massage it into the skin, and allow any remaining medication on the skin to evaporate. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water after each use to prevent the cream from contacting any areas not being treated or the mucous membranes. Ask your pharmacist or physician any questions you have about the medicine to ensure the correct usage.
