What is Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil) used for?

Note that this product is manufactured in Japan and does not contain any English documentation.

Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil) is an oral medication used to treat seizure conditions such as epilepsy. It operates by balancing certain chemicals in the brain to prevent repeated electrical impulses associated with the occurrence of seizures. This action may also make it useful for preventing nerve pain caused by diabetic neuropathy or migraines. Your physician may prescribe it for other unlisted conditions, as well.

How should I use Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil)?

Follow your physician's instructions while using Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil) to get the safest and most effective results from treatment. The normal dosage is one tablet taken once daily, but your individual instructions will be determined by your current health condition and the severity of your symptoms. Swallow the tablets with a large glass of water. They may be taken with or without food, but a meal or snack is recommended before use if you experience nausea or vomiting. Do not crush, split, or chew the tablets before use as this may destroy or change the effects of their contents. Ask your physician or pharmacist any questions you have about the medication to ensure the correct usage.

What are the side effects of Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil)?

Some patients using Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil) have reported experiencing side effects such as:

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness or drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Upset stomach or diarrhea
  • Unusual swelling of the extremities
  • Blurry vision

More serious side effects that may require immediate medical assistance are chest pain, irregular heart rate, severe stomach pain, confusion, flu symptoms, unusual mood changes, increased seizure occurrence, severe skin reactions, darkened urine, discolored stools, or jaundice. Immediately inform your physician if you experience any worrying or intense symptoms to make sure the correct adjustments are made to your regimen to prevent further complications including lower doses or reduced application frequency.

Please Note

Do not use Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil) if you are lactose intolerant or have allergies to gabapentin. You are also suggested to disclose if you are elderly, if the patient being treated is a young child, if you have diabetes, decreased kidney function, or if you do not have a history of seizures. These conditions may require adjustments to your treatment to prevent unexpected health problems from occurring.

Strictly follow all instructions provided to you by your physician or pharmacist while using Regnite (Gabapentin Enacarbil). Optimum and safe dosage can differ based on the patient and the condition being treated.

As this medication may be unsafe for certain patients, it is essential you always inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as if you have any allergies, other illnesses, or ongoing health conditions, and if you are taking any other form of medication, supplements, or herbal products.

Immediately seek emergency medical care if you have an allergic or hypersensitive reaction. Common signs of a reaction include hives, swelling, skin rashes, chest pains, as well as trouble breathing or swallowing.
