What is Cetcip (Cetrizine Hydrochloride) used for?

Cetcip contains the active ingredient Cetrizine. Cetrizine is an antihistamine. It can help reduce sneezing, itching, watery eyes, or runny nose associated with allergies or hayfever. Cetcip can also help with the itching and swelling associated with by hives.

How should I use Cetcip (Cetrizine Hydrochloride)?

Cetcip comes in a strip of 10 x 10mg tablets.

Take half to one tablet per day (5mg to 10mg) to relieve symptoms. Take the dose prescribed by your doctor.

What are the side effects of Cetcip (Cetrizine Hydrochloride)?

Cetcip can cause some unwanted side effects. Some are mild, while others can be more sever and require you to stop taking Cetrizine.

Mild side effects include:

• dizziness, drowsiness
• tired feeling
• dry mouth
• sore throat
• cough
• nausea
• constipation
• headache

More serious side effects that can occur include the following. Notify your doctor immediately if you notice:

• fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat
• weakness, tremors (uncontrolled shaking), or sleep problems (insomnia)
• severe restless feeling, hyperactivity
• confusion
• problems with vision
• urinating less than usual or not at all

Also tell your doctor right away if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction to Cetrizine.

Please Note

Cetcip is contraindicated if you have had an allergic reaction to Cetrizine.

Advise you doctor if you have had any adverse reactions to other antihistamines in the past.

Cetcip (Cetrizine) can cause drowsiness. Be aware of this is you need to drive a car or operate machinery while taking Cetcip. Drinking alcohol while taking Cetcip can increase this effect. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Cetcip (Cetrizine).

Cetrizine is not expected to be harmful to unborn babies, but it can be passed through the breast milk.
