What is Grisovin FP (Griseofulvin) used for?

Grisovin FP (Griseofulvin) is an oral antifungal medication used to treat a variety of infections caused by fungus. It operates by slowing or stopping the reproduction of fungus cells making it easier for the immune system to control or destroy the infection. This makes it useful for treating fungal infections affecting the skin, nails, or scalp. Your physician may use it to treat other unlisted conditions, as well.

How should I use Grisovin FP (Griseofulvin)?

One tablet of Grisovin FP (Griseofulvin) is normally taken one to four times daily for a cycle of medication lasting one or two weeks, but your individual directions will be determined by your physician based on the condition being treated, your current health, and the severity of your symptoms. These should be swallowed with a large glass of water and may be taken with or without food, but a snack or meal is recommended before use if you get an upset stomach. Never stop taking the medicine before being instructed to, even if your symptoms have disappeared, as the infection may not be gone and can return stronger or more resistant to treatment. Do not change the form of the tablets by splitting or crushing them as this may destroy or alter the effects of their contents.
