What is Ambisome (Liposomal Amphotericin B) used for?

AmBisome (Liposomal Amphotericin B) is used in the treatment of various different fungal infections. Uses include systemic fungal infections (Aspergillus species, Candida species, and/or Cryptococcus species) Cryptococcal meningitis and Visceral Leishmaniasis. AmBisome is classified as an antifungal antibiotic. It prevents the further spread of infection by killing the fungus.

AmBisome is comes in a powder form that needs to be reconstituted before use. The solution will then be administered by an intravenous drip. Only use the dosage specified by your doctor for your condition.
